George Eastman war einer der Ersten, der Trockenplatten in Massenproduktion für Fotografen anfertigte und er war es auch, der 1888 die erste Boxkamera auf den Weltmarkt brachte. Ihm ist es zu verdanken, dass ein vormals mühsames und kompliziertes Verfahren vereinfacht und für jedermann zugänglich wurde. Ganz im Sinne von Eastmans Vision, die Fotografie „so praktisch wie den Bleistift“ zu gestalten, führt Kodak die Tradition fort, den Einfluss und den Eindruck von Bildern in unserem Alltag auszuweiten. Das Unternehmen ist heute ein Topkonzern von multinationaler Größe, dessen Marke in buchstäblich jedem Land der Welt bekannt ist.
